Actor Morgan Freeman narrates gay marriage advert

in: http://www.gaystarnews.com/article/actor-morgan-freeman-narrates-gay-marriage-advert251112

The 30-second commercial advocating for same-sex marriage started airing in the US during Sunday morning news shows

American actor Morgan Freeman is the voice of HRC's new advert in support of same-sex marriage.

American actor Morgan Freeman has lent his voice in support of gay marriage.

The Golden Globe winner has narrated a marriage equality advert for the Human Rights Campaign titled Dawn of a New Day for Marriage Equality.

In the advert, Freeman says: 'Freedom, justice and human dignity have always guided our journey toward a more perfect union.'

'Now, across our country, we are standing together for the right of gay and lesbian Americans to marry the person they love. With historic victories for marriage, we've delivered a mandate for full equality.'

HRC President Chad Griffin said: 'As we continue the march toward full equality in legislatures and the courts, it is crystal clear that the prospect of an equal future is no longer up for debate; the question now is how soon it will arrive'.

This isn't the first time the actor has expressed his support of gay rights.

The actor told Newsweek earlier this year: 'I grew up in the South but I started dancing in my twenties when I got out of the Air Force, and studying dance, you’re surrounded by gay guys all the time. You get to know them and you have to shift gears!'

Freeman's image as God from the film Bruce Almighty is also used on a Twitter account @MorgonFreeman to comment on homophobia.

Drag queen participa de polêmico comercial de Halloween do grupo PETA

in: http://revistaladoa.com.br/2012/10/noticias/drag-queen-participa-polemico-comercial-halloween-grupo-peta

"No to homohobia" ads to air in Australia

Visit: http://www.notohomophobia.com.au

In an Australian-first, a new public campaign will combine TV ads, social media, online support resources and moving personal stories from people who have experienced harassment to challenge every single member of the community to say no to homophobia, transphobia and biphobia.

Two television ads, to be broadcast nationally over the next year, depict the most common everyday situations where people face harassment -- at school, in sports, at work and in public spaces like cafes and on the street. They show people experiencing harassment and witnesses taking action to put a stop to the offensive behaviour. TV ads focusing on homophobic harassment have never been shown in Australia.

An online resource at http://www.notohomophobia.com.au/ helps people get informed, find support and take action by hosting all the relevant information, resources and contacts in one place.

Spokesperson Anna Brown said "Everyone agrees there is no place for racism or sexism in modern Australia. Homophobia, biphobia and transphobia are no different. Homophobic harassment is never acceptable and often unlawful. We need to stop harassment and the harm it causes to our friends, family members and neighbours."

LGBT Inclusive TV Ads (VIDEOS)

http://www.care2.com/

Last week we brought you news that an IKEA ad featuring two men holding hands had drawn a muted response from the Italian public, yet had provoked the wrath of one national tabloid. This generated a discussion in the comments about other ads that people have seen, from print ads and television ads, that feature LGBTs. With that in mind, below are a few ads with LGBT people in them that you may or may not have seen. While some certainly fall short of ideal portrayals, others have been more thoughtful.

First, here's a collection of ads by jewelery maker D&G:

Here's one ad from Korea in which a girl laments how the good men are always taken and the perfect men are always gay, but luckily she's got plenty of phone minutes to chat to her girlfriends about it:

This next video comes from Israel and is targeted as gay Israeli youth. It features a song by Ivri Lider, widely considered one of Israel's foremost contemporary music stars who also just happens to be openly gay himself:

The following ad is from a campaign from Levi. Now, you might have thought you'd already seen this commercial, but there was an alternate version made:

Levi also put a separate ad out for the ladies, though this time there's no apartment wrecking:

Though ads depicting gender fluidity or trans identity are rarer, there are a few out there. The following is a Spanish IKEA ad:

The following is an Impulse Body Spray ad that definitely gives a nod to the gay community though certainly uses some stereotypes too:

Here's an ad voiced by British actress Joanna Lumley marketing an airline and its, well, focus on women's conveniences:

The following commercial from Centraal Beheer Insurance was famously banned for its different spin on the Adam and Eve story and its take on needing assistance when you don't get what you signed up for. Some in the LGBT community have found its somewhat stereotypical portrayal of a gay man less than admirable. Others have found it humorous. Some in the religious community also objected for its use of the Adam and Eve story. It is included here because of the debate it provoked:

The next ad features a new piece of mobile phone kit that means you can block out background noise. Thing is though, you might want check out what's going on behind you:

Finally, here is a quite moving credit ad that features a trans elder woman:

This small collection could not have been compiled as quickly or easily without the aid of the Best Gay Ad YouTube Channel. Click on over to see more LGBT-themed ads.

If you've seen any LGBT-inclusive ads not featured above you think deserve a mention, please tell us about them in the comments.
