WORTH TO VISIT FOR: Directors, CSR- HR- marketing- and public relations professionals, governmental and non-governmental organizations' representatives, and everybody who feels the importance of the topic.

FORUM TOPICS

Since the event will be part of the EuroGames which will host several thousand guests from all over Europe, the conference will highlight the importance of the contribution made by the European LGBT community to the business community as well as to the sports.

Due to the diversity of participants we expect the conference to ad great value to the exchange of ideas and best practices from different parts of the world, innovative ideas and schemes that can be implemented in Hungary and other EU countries as well.

We would also like to share our local experience of the past 3 years, challenges as well as successes, in working with corporate, SMEs as well as civil organisations.

The games are expected to attract over 6 thousand athletes from all over the world, we expect the conference to attract around 200 high profile stakeholders thus the promotion of diversity and inclusion at the workplace and in the business community through sports competitions and other similar public events will be the leading theme of the conference.

During the 1st Hungarian LGBT Business Leader Forum (http://tiny.cc/bbz1fw) held on May 20th and 21st, 2010 at the Central European University; as well on the 2nd Hungarian LGBT Business & Human Rights Forum (http://tiny.cc/7xz1fw) held on June 16th 2011 at British Embassy in Budapest; it became obvious that there is a great need for professional discussion and awareness raising on the topic of LGBT business andhuman rights development within the business/employer community.

The conference is bilingual, simultaneous Hungarian-English translation will be provided.

The cargo is gay and straight athletes and visitors from 32 countries around the world, arriving especially for this prestigious occasion. The world’s first devotedly gay airline was recently established in order to fill the gap left by traditional, boring airlines and to satisfy the increasing demand by all sorts of consumers – sporting a rainbow of tastes and sexual orientations - for services provided in a gay atmosphere.

Budapest Mayor Not Thrilled To Be Hosting LGBT EuroGames Next Year

As Budapest gears up to host the annual LGBT sportsfest known as the EuroGames next summer, one thing’s fairly clear: The Hungarian capital’s mayor, István Tarlós, won’t be watching.

In a just-released letter to Berlin’s openly gay mayor Klaus Wowereit, Tarlós says that while he respects the right of the EuroGames folks to do whatever they and their “like-minded people” want, “I disassociate myself from both [the] lifestyle, as well as from the event. It is not for me, in my power, to support them.”

Hungarian media reports that Tarlós has furthermore taken to playing the heterophobia card: “Is this not a discriminatory event, if this tendency is only that such people can participate? Because… this is a form of exclusion.”

Despite the lack of love from the mayor, the EuroGames will take place in Budapest from June 27 to July 1, 2012, with about 4,000 athletes from across the European continent expected to participate.

Jogos LGBT da Europa começam dia 20

Jogação e muitos esportes. A combinação é a força do Eurogames 2011, que rola de 20 a 24 de julho na cidade holandesa de Roterdã. O evento LGBT acontece, de forma geral, a cada ano em uma cidade européia desde 1992.

São esperados 6 mil participantes, sejam praticantes de esportes ou apenas espectadores (e baladeiros, nos dois casos). Dentre os esportes estão futebol, tênis de mesa e natação. A programação cultural inclui debates e exposições.

O lema do evento é “Mostre sua cor”. E tem hino oficial com um clipe legal. Da música: “Mostre sua cor. Mostre sua alma. Se ficarmos juntos, vamos alcançar nosso objetivo”.

Não deu para ir a essa edição? Tudo bem. A de 2012 será realizada em Budapeste.

Tell your friends: Eurogames registration closes on July 1st

Most likely you already registered to participate in Europe’s most important gay and lesbian sporting event. Maybe you have friends who would like to share in the fun as well? Tell them to register now, before it’s too late. The registration for the EuroGames 2011 will be closed on July 1st.

Together with thousands of gays and lesbians from all over Europe you and your friends can experience the fun of participating in a large international event, celebrating diversity and enjoying your favourite sports.

Everybody can register until July 1st for a large number of sporting activities, from volleyball to water polo and from soccer to athletics. The entry fee is €130 for members of the EGLSF (European Gay & Lesbian Sport Federation), non-members pay €20 more. On top of everything else, all registrations in the final 10 days can pick up (while stocks last) a cool EuroGames T-shirt at the accreditation!

Eric van Tijn, the well known Dutch composer, has written a special song for the EuroGames. Of course the title of this swinging dance number is 'Show Your Colour'.

Raffaëla
'Show Your Colour' is song by Raffaëla Paton. Most people remember this soul diva from the talent shows Idols and The Voice of Holland. Of course it is a huge plus that Raffaëla has an amazing voice, but she has also made it known that she is bisexual and thus feels an extra connection to the EuroGames. Raffaëla will perform 'Show Your Colour' live during the opening of the EuroGames 2011.

Same-sex dance couple athletes of the year

Caroline Privou and Petra Zimmermann were recently elected sports figures of the year 2011 for Köln, German. Never before in the world has a same-sex dance couple won the title at a regular sporting event. This summer during the EuroGames, the first official European Championship Same-Sex Dance contest will take place.

Number 1
During the live-gala 'Kölsche Sportnaach 2011', on local German television Center.tv the women were named athletes of the year. Caroline and Petra have been number 1 for years on in the world level same-sex dancing standards for women. In addition to the many international titles, including the EuroGames, Gaygames and Outgames, the women have also received recognition for their exceptional performance with the prize for the 'best sports team'. Their dedication to the sport – dance and professional attitude and performance are world class. And they are the ultimate ambassadors for the entire 'same-sex dance community'.
